Tattooing in the air

Corendon and Henk

Legendary tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher is taking his craft to new heights, quite literally. In collaboration with Corendon, he designed the world's first fully tattooed airplane: a Boeing 737-800 wrapped in bold, hand-drawn artwork rooted in traditional tattoo culture.

The aircraft, named Sweet Louise, is more than a flying canvas. It tells a story of freedom, symbolism and the universal language of ink, with references to maritime traditions, world cultures and the timeless role of tattoos as marks of identity. To celebrate this one-of-a-kind project, Corendon and Schiffmacher are launching an exclusive merchandise collection, inspired by the spirit of travel and tattoo art. The first items will drop this summer and include T-shirts, a cap, a tote bag, and a passport holder, all designed in the style of Hanky Panky himself.

Whether you're a tattoo lover, a collector or just someone who appreciates bold design with a story.

At new heights

According to Schiffmacher, the design is "a visual ode to the traveller." He continues: "Tattoos tell stories."

This design is about being on the road, about connection and about the universal human need to discover the world. On the motorbike is a cheerful heart-shaped pirate: the eternal traveller. I am incredibly proud that this is flying through the air."
